Face to Face (F2F) training is where participants are physically present at the training with the trainer in real time. This differs from a remote session, or pre-recorded/prepared e-learning.

F2F training is an effective way of learning as interaction is in real-time, activities are more hands on and far more creative than what one may be restricted to online.

F2F is more personable and therefore more effective. Participants are present in the room both physically and mentally, which enhances the overall learning experience. Participants receive more one-to-one support, and the training is more tailored around participants.

As we all know, it is easy to hide in an online call, but with F2F training everyone is seen, heard and their training needs are considered. Such support is imperative for effective and efficient learning.

F2F Training Benefits;

  • Hands on learning
  • Less distractions
  • Learn from everyone around you
  • Better communication
  • Interactive
  • Immediate feedback
  • Opportunity to engage in discussions

From feedback we have received, learners find it difficult to focus and engage when learning online compared to F2F. This is for a variety of reasons such as being distracted by surroundings, not interacting with fellow participants and simply not being in a learning environment.

When physically attending a training session, you are in a learning setting which sets the initial tone and allows you to engage and to focus. Being in the same environment as fellow participants allows conversations to take place, allows for a better structure and enables participants to feel involved.

F2F training brings opportunities to learn from other participants as well as the trainer, which just isn’t possible in a pre-recorded e-learning session.

There is of course a time and a place for e-learning. Not only is it generally cheaper than F2F training, it allows for flexibility of participants to take the learning whenever suits them.

However, the benefits of F2F training are clear to see, and worth the investment in the long run. Learners will come away from F2F training more engaged and knowledgeable than they would have from an e-learning session they can switch off for and skip through.
